A Good End to 2001...
A Good Beginning for 2002

To make this coming year a fruitful one, we ask for your continued participation through financial giving and intercession. Let's continue to do this together!

Our Project

What we did in 2001

What we want to do in 2002

What we need to make it a reality

Igreja da Vinha Radio Program

We had two weeks of live broadcasting on each of the two stations in town in July before the conference. Railson hosted the evening program and truly enjoyed it. The program had strong appeal and many requests for continuation.

We want to start a daily morning program, incorporating Bible devotions, contemporary worship music (including translated Vineyard music), preaching, and children's stories.

Monthly funding for radio time and the purchase of music CDs and children's resources (about $140 per month)

Quarterly Ministry Trips to the Interior

Railson and team members visited the interior three times this year. One trip involved construction of a "Vineyard" church building in a river villa.

Our goal is to make 4 river trips such as to oversee and encourage our brothers in the more remote areas of Porto de Moz.

Regular financial donations for the purchase of fuel and supplies ($50-$500)

Construction of Church Offices

This year has been a good construction year in terms of making ready the front patio, the children's rooms, bathrooms, and installing iron window frames and doors, but there's still a long way to go. We recently got a phone line installed (that's not always easy to do!) but without an office, there's no phone attendance yet.

In 2002, we hope to move the administrative office from our home to the church, acquire a computer for the church and set up our loaning library. This is all dependent on the construction of an expanded 2nd floor of the church building.

Funding (about $4000); donated computer equipment

Foundation of the Vinha Food Bank and Social Assistance

We have been separating a small amount of tithes from the church to provide a Social Assistance purse for the purchase of emergency food, cooking gas, and clothing. In these last months our resources have become exhausted well before the close of the month. There are still many members who are in urgent need.

We'd like to see a guaranteed monthly minimum of emergency food and supplies, based on donations given specifically for this purpose.

$50-$100 monthly to provide a basic food closet; donations of used clothing

II Annual Vinha Conference in Porto de Moz (July 2002)

In July we had a wonderful time with our first Vinha (Vineyard) conference. Many attended and were touched during the event.

We're looking forward to planning and carrying out the Conference again this July.

Funding for materials, rentals, airfare for speaker and/or singer, T-shirts, etc. (about $2000)

Quarterly regional Leaders Retreat (TLC)

In mid-2001, the Porto de Moz team gained the responsibility of planning leaders' retreats for workers in our geographic area.

Four retreats are on the calendar for 2002.

Prayer covering such that these retreats would produce much fruit and solid workers

If you are able to donate funds toward any of these causes please follow these steps:

1. Notify us, if possible, by e-mail (harnold@orst.edu) describing the cause you would like to donate toward and the amount. This helps our planning.
2. Write a check made payable to Grace Christian Fellowship.
3. Specify the intent of your donation on the memo line, or better yet, include a short note to the church secretary.
4. Mail your donation to GCF, PO Box 561, Corvallis, OR, 97339, USA. Your gift is tax deductible. The church will send a receipt at the beginning of the year.
