The real gospel is not, "Come to Jesus and get your needs met." Rather it is "Jesus Christ is Lord—what are you going to do about it?" —Graham Cooke, 1999

We are enjoying getting to know our new baby, Sarah Cristina, born on May 30th. weighing 7 1/2 pounds. Heidi is doing well, although missing her daily rounds at the hospital now that she is on maternity leave. Railson has returned to broadcasting the church's radio program, and this time he has a super trainee who helps ease the workload. Timothy is a wonderful two-and-a-half year old with all the joys and challenges that go with it. He prides himself on being able to recite numbers up to 10 and the entire alphabet, and has become inseparable buddies with our new Doberman pup.

home groupWe are excited that the Lord has made it possible for the XM to purchase a lot in a new district of Porto de Moz through donations from financial supporters. The lot will serve for the construction of a second Igreja da Vinha in the future. Please pray about the development of this property and the ministry that will eventually take place there.

We covet your prayers for our work in Almerim. With many commitments in Porto de Moz and the XM it has been increasingly difficult to make the time for weekend visits to our growing family there, but we go when possible. Included is a photo of the last home fellowship we held in Almerim. Several new believers have been added to the family since this photo was taken. Please pray for their continued growth.

New Horizons, New Needs
Can you help us purchase one of these?

motorboat

It goes without saying that where thoroughfares are rivers, the best vehicles are boats. Our extension work in Almerim has shown us how important and cost-effective it would be to have consistent, reliable transportation on the rivers. For now, we must rely on public boats, which are extremely slow besides being expensive when taking groups. A motorboat would greatly increase our effectiveness in reaching population centers like Almerim as well as the smaller villages in the interior. So, just as our supporters have helped with numerous projects over the years, we ask that you consider once more making a donation, this time toward the purchase of an 18-foot Suzuki 50hp-driven motorboat (similar to the one in the photo). The boat would be purchased through the XM for our ministry use. Your donation may be sent to our regular giving address, clearly designated for "Gils—motorboat." The total cost of the boat is approximately US$8670, of which we have already accumulated $2000. Whether big or small, your donation will help us reach our goal. Thanks in advance.

Blessings,
Railson & Heidi
