...concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them. Acts 16:10

Summer is the season for change!

Greetings from Brazil. We will be handing over our church responsibilities this month in Porto de Moz as a ministry couple from Altamira has been appointed to minister here. Railson will move to Almerim at the beginning of August and Heidi will continue with the kids and her nutrition work in Porto until we secure housing in Almerim. We are negotiating the price on a prospective lot, but we are still unsure if we will rent or build a home. Our desire is to keep our home in Porto as a rental home and build a small home in Almerim suitable for our family and ministry needs in the near future. Please pray for us during this time of transition.

Vineyard Brazil

Speaking of changes, the Association of Vineyard Churches in Brazil recently adopted the Vinha churches of our region as a part of their movement. That means that "Vinha" (the name of our churches) equals "Vineyard" for all intents and purposes. This decision comes as an answer to prayer, and is one that will directly promote the spiritual health, uniformity and accountability of our churches. So, our new work in Almerim will be the first originally Vineyard plant in our region.

Conference 2004

The annual Porto conference this year takes on the theme "I Need You, Lord." We expect good participation from other city churches and Vinha churches from nearby towns. We are also praying for many conversions and healthy follow-up ministry.

We are constantly encouraged by the receptivity of hearts in the villages throughout the interior. On a recent missions trip with an American and Brazilian team, 19 people were saved in a village on the Quatí river. We warmly welcome visits from our international friends, as they are often a catalyst to evangelism.

Warmly,
